I recently participated in the Move Better, Feel Better Feldenkrais® Awareness Summit. Due to COVID-19, this international online summit had 24 000 participants. Staffan Elgelid, one of the opening speakers shared his definition on the Feldenkrais Method®. “The Feldenkrais Method® has a robustness and biological fitness so we can adapt to the changes and uncertainty that is happening.” ~Staffan Elgelid.
The founder of the Feldenkrais Method®, Moshe Feldenkrais, had a black belt in judo. In martial arts, you have to be prepared to be attacked in all directions, (i.e. from the front, from behind, from the sides, from above and from below). This agility physically and mentally prepares you for the unknown.

As we are in the midst of this COVID-19 pandemic there are so many unknowns. Will this pandemic last 1 year or more? What will be our new normal? Will team sports and large music concerts be obsolete? Working remotely was a luxury but is it the norm? Will virtual care and curbside pick-up be routine?
As we connect and conduct business via screens, are any of you getting Zoom fatigue? Here is an interesting eye test from China. Below are the test scores. Experiment doing this test in a dark room. Note if you score higher after doing this Feldenkrais® lesson: (search for covering the eyes).
One thing for sure, getting on the floor to do Feldenkrais® lessons is certainly building my robustness and biological fitness as we chart our way through the COVID -19 unknown.
